She has been nodding off in a sitting position lately. She hates to lie down and spends a lot of time before naps standing and sitting in the crib even though she is exhausted. Click on the image to enlarge. Believe it or not, she is asleep in this picture.

So much fun!

Aria is such a riot. Yelling da da da da all day today. She is a crawling machine. She even has tiny bruises on her knees from crawling all over the house. We have to be pretty vigilant. Today she ripped up the duct tape we had used to "childproof" the internet cable in C's office! Quite a little monkey. We have been having fun going to an indoor play area at the mall and playgroup.

She loves to pull up, crawl, talk (yell) and read and occasionally dance. She has added "Ma" and "Da" to her "Blah" repertoire She had so much fun tonight pulling up one the play yard and talking to Casey, and having her fingers licked. We have finished with the Augmentin and her ears and eyes are cleared up but she has a rash that the ped thought might be a reaction (though not a true allergy) to that antibiotic so he put her on Benadryl and switched her to a different one for 3 days.

We leave for Portland on Sat am. We have cheerios in our arsenal if she gets fussy on the plane. How bad can a 2 1/2 hour flight be?

My poor sick kid...and childproofing!

Poor little muffin is sick...

She started a cold on Monday, but Tues night she had a funny discharge from her eye and by Wed it was swollen and she was pretty sick so we went to the pediatrician. She has an ear infection and an eye infection so we started Augmentin on Wed afternoon and antibiotic eye drops. I guess it affected her tummy b/c on Wed eve she threw up ALL over Chris!!! Poor Aria. She is a little trooper, still sleeping 6-7...but pretty grumpy during her wake times. Hopefully she'll feel better in a day or two.

Crazy week!

Yesterday during nap-time Aria stood up in the crib! As soon as nap was over we lowered the mattress to the lowest level and took out the aquarium. She is pulling up on everything now--but still no sign of real crawling. She takes two pulls forward and collapses her legs so she is lying.

First babbling, now pulling to stand all the time. C is going out to get baby-proofing stuff this weekend. I'm going to post some pictures of her eating cheerios...she has recently mastered the pincer grasp.

In other news, I am down 26 lbs since 12/27. Still have 30 lbs more to go but at this rate I could be back at my goal by early May!

Finally BABBLING!!

We went in her room this am and she greets us with "Blah, blah, blah" in an Adam Sandler-esque voice. We are so excited! She finally babbling (making bu, pu, ma, da sounds) and we hope "ma" and "dada" are soon to follow...

Pulling up...

Aria is still working on her crawl. She's up on all fours, rocking, occasionally moving forward before she's back down on the ground. Her favorite thing is pulling up. Yesterday she pulled herself to her feet using the toy rack---and started picking out toys!! We're going to have to get serious about childproofing pretty soon. Still getting over our colds but looking forward to a visit to Aunt J and Aunt N in Northern CA soon.
